In this lab Václav and Patrick will show you how to get much more information from eDirectory into your GroupWise system, for example thru admin defined fields. This lab will also cover LDAP authentication, which can also be combined with smartcards thru Novell's Modular Authentication System (NMAS).
The first part of the lab will show you how to deal with and profit from eDirectory - GroupWise synchronization and will pay attention to Admin Defined fields and it's mapping to eDirectory attributes also. Also the issue, when the synchronization was not working reliable last year is solved and will be shortly discussed.
The second part of the session is focused to LDAP authentication to Groupwise instead of internal user database (don't mismatch with eDirectory integration and Single Sign On options). You will also see how you can profit from this authentication in case of NMAS - smartcard authentization (and ZEN Dynamic Local User option for ZEN masters). Possible security issues will be discussed too.
All topics are valid for NetWare and Linux environments.
