Dive in even deeper with this Advanced Workshop on GroupWise Web Services (SOAP/XML). For those of you that have attended last or this year's "Understanding GroupWise Web Services (SOAP/XML Protocol)" session this is the perfect follow-up session. Dive even deeper into event based coding and much more, this is certainly the "must-be" session for those of you that want to learn more about programming towards GroupWise.

 

This advanced session is designed for developers who have some programming experience with GroupWise Web Services and want to expand their knowledge in GroupWise Web Services best practices and GroupWise Events.

In the first part of the session, we will focus on GroupWise Web Services best practices. Attendees will learn:

• Best practices for efficiently getting items
• Using views and filters
• Getting message bodies and attachments
• Reducing network traffic
• Increase CPU performance
• Debugging tips. 
  

  

As time permits, we will cover other topics. In the second half of the session, we will focus on GroupWise Events. GroupWise Events provide developers real-time notifications when changes occur to a user's mailbox. For example, if a developer wants to track when an item is deleted in a GroupWise user's mailbox, the developer creates an Event Configuration that tracks items that are deleted. During the configuration, the developer can provide an IP address and port to be notified when the specific event occurs. When notified, the developer can take the appropriate action.

In the hands-on portion of the class, we will use the Java programming language to view and understand pre-built sample applications demonstrating the concepts discussed.
